open for all
She looked up. This school, was so gay. She fixed the dreadful skirt she wore and headed down the hall. Gay, she said as she looked at the girls that walked past her, giggling at what she looked like. Gay, she said. Gay. Gay. “God this school is so damn gay!” she dreaded wearing the pink sweater and black skirt and the little school girl shoes she wore with them. Rolling her eyes, she held her books closer as she headed towards her dorm. She felt tears pricking at her eyes in humiliation. She missed Winterthorne. Kj opened her dorm’s door, and put her books on her small desk neatly. She then searched through her drawers, looking for her “uniform” that she “updated”. Flinging off her old one, she slipped on her Winterthorne Style uniform. The skirt was ripped to her lower thighs, and her shoes were slick high heels. She grinned and put down her hair, letting it fall to her shoulders. Leaning down into her mirror, she reapplied her liquid black eyeliner and mascara, then applied a bit of clear liquid lip gloss. She then slipped out of her dorm with a black hoodie on, and took a left down the hall.
She stopped after a few minutes walk when a sight caught her attention. She looked over and her jaw dropped in awe. Standing in front of her was a grand piano, surrounded with music stands and instruments. She peeked into the room, making sure there was no one around, and slipped into the room. She ran her fingers over the ivory keys, noting at the sound they mad. In tune, she thought. Beautiful sounds. She held back a laugh. She then sat down on the velvet bench and sighed as she hit two notes on the piano. Then her fingers were flying on the piano, a soft melody coming out of the room. Her eyes closed and the music slowly echoed until it stopped. She then opened her eyes and looked around smiling. She jumped up and went over to the other end of the room, tracing her fingers over a small violin that sat on a shelf. A grin spread across her face as she picked it up and settled it on her shoulder. The bow struck the cords, and a soft melody fell into the atmosphere. She played the notes for a while longer before setting down the violin, spinning it slowly to take a good look at it. But something caught her eye. She looked down.
Christophe Landon was carved into the sides.
She gaped at the violin. “No waaayy!” she shrieked. Looking around, she went to the other violins. Machold, G. B. Guadagnini, Guadagnini, Enrico Rocca, Gennaro Gagliano, Michael Platner. She was standing in a room surrounded with violins, cellos, bows; most of the room was rare instruments. She shook her head, spinning around the room with her hands held out to the sides. “Oh I’m in heaven!” she exclaimed as she sat in the middle of the floor. But she couldn’t sit still. She jumped up and grabbed the violin again and started to play. The song “You” filled the room. She played the song for a few minutes. But when she stopped, the silence filled the room, and she was again brought back to the thought that she was alone, and she sighed.

The one thing that Jordan hated most about this school was probably the fact that they had to wear a uniform. They were forced to wear a uniform for a majority of the time. The only time they didn't was when they weren't in class really. But Jay was forced to wear the shitty uniform, which was consisited of a pink sweater and a black skirt, as well as some black shoes that were the general kind you saw at schools such as these. Sure, there was pink, but it was a baby pink, one shade that Jay wasn't a big fan of. Just because it was a subtle color, not a bright vibrant one. And it was just pink and black. As if it couldn't get any less colorful. She was lucky, even, that she wasn't forced to keep her hair just plain black, without any dye in it. But she was able to keep the color in her hair, much to her delight. If she hadn't that bit of color, she'd probably be super pissed. I mean, color was her thing, and she would probably go insane without it.
Overall, Jay hated this school. There was the uniforms, and then the bratty bitches that originally attended this school for girls. It all just generally pissed her off. The only good thing was the fact that it was a bit less secluded, and it wasn't as cold here as it was back in Germany. She sighed as she walked down the hallway, leaving the dorms as she had already changed out of her uniform into a blue top that sported bright yellow and pink, with a drawing up two hands doing the "fangs up" sign made by Cobra Starship, as well as the band's name. It clung to her small frame, as did the jeans on her legs. She rolled her eyes as some of the Crestview girls stared at her. They thought her shortness odd, she knew. Her height, or lack thereof, was weird to them, she expected. So sorry that she wasn't the height that she should be. Or could be. Whichever. Stupid genes.
As she wandered down the hall, music filled her ears. Sweet, sweet music, it was. She recognized the instrument as being a violin. Hey, just because she preferred playing guitar didn't mean she didn't know other instruments. I mean, hey, they were in the same instrumental group, so that was a plus, right? She quickly followed the sound to find herself in a room filled with instruments of every kind. Her eyes grew wide. As a musician, she knew to appreciate all kinds of instruments. And this? It was too much. By the time she had arrived in the room, the music had stopped, so the fact that someone else had to be in the room flew out of her mind as she walked towards the guitars sitting against the wall. "Ohmygawd," she breathed in awe of the guitars. They were lovely guitars, indeed, all of these acoustic. The wood on them was polished to a lovely shine, the wood being of the finest, quality, of course. She apprehensively picked on up, strumming a couple of strings before putting it down. Perfectly tuned.
Looking up, she saw Kjara, one of her good friends and a previous roommate of hers, standing with a violin in her hand. So that was where the music was coming from. "KJAY!" she shouted enthusiastically, using her nickname for the girl. Well, the nickname most often used. But she swore she had come up with it. But whatever. "Oh my gawd, how are you? Were you the one playing the violin? It was soooo pretty!" She fired comments at the younger girl at rapid fire pace, not really pausing for breath until now. She giggled as she realized that she had done so, and looked up at the taller girl. "Yeah, I heard the violin and that's how I found my way here. It was sooo pretty though!" She remarked with a grin on her lips. Ah, it was good to have friends. [/blockquote]

Kjara looked up as her name was said. Err, more like screeched out. She looked down at her friend and held onto her new violin gently. ” I’m okay now that I’m not alone anymore.” her musical voice filled the room. She smiled down at her good friend and nodded slightly, a blush rising up on her golden cheeks. ”Yeah, that was me playing. And thanks.” laughing, she set her violin down onto the piano and looked her friend over. A grin spread across her face. ”Check it out. I redone my uniform.” grinning form ear to ear, she stood up and took off her hoodie, and showed her the shorter skirt and the small high heels. ”I got bored so I tore the skirt. Thankfully, I have more of the old ones so I won’t get in trouble.” she laughed some more, looking around the room. It still stunned her as she sat there, looking at all these instruments. Some rare, some not. And it didn’t miss her attention when J ay was awed also, but by the guitars around her. They were pretty impressive, but KJ couldn’t play a guitar if it meant life or death. She then sat down at the piano bench and began to play “Bella’s Lullaby”.
She sighed as the melody filled the room. ”Hey Jay? she asked quietly. ”Do you ever get this feeling you’ll never find the right person for you. Lover, friend..family?” she closed her eyes, her fingers playing in remembrance as easily as if she was breathing. That’s when she remembered playing with Charisma, the first Crestview girl who was actually nice to her. That girl was amazing with the piano. How could someone play for like, forever? Kjara sighed and wished she had a chance at that. Her mother, before she passed away, taught her to read music and to sing. But that was it. And after she died, she actually wanted nothing to do with music. But when she was adopted, they reintroduced her into the music world, and showed her instruments. That’s when she fell in love with the piano and the violin.
Blinking away a few tears at her memory of her mother, she then cleared her throat. ”So how are you and Gabriel? she shivered at the thought of the boy who came close to killing her. Filthy bastard. Her fingers came down a tad bit too hard onto the piano, the tune sounding out of place. Narrowing her brows, she got back into the melody and began to play once more. But as her eyes looked down at the ivory keys, her attention slipped to the night before, when she was talking to Joe. She shook her head absentmindedly. She actually got him to talk to her, and that actually made her feel..odd. He didn’t talk to anyone else, maybe Sebastian, but other than that, he never talked to anyone. He didn’t trust her that she would keep all of the things they talked about to herself, but she is and she will. That’s final. But she kept thinking about when she was showing him the whip scars upon her back. She shook her head, her eyes suddenly going wide. He actually felt sorry for her. Sorry! For her! She shook her head. She could still see the expression in his eyes as she sat there, playing the piano.
Shuddering, she pulled her fingers away from the piano as another song popped into her head. But she’d have to have guitars and drums, and she didn’t feel like gathering up all the people to play that song. But instead, she began to sing.
Hold it together. Birds of a feather. Nothing but lies and crooked wings. I have the answer. Spreading the cancer. You are the faith inside me. No, Don't, leave me to die here. Help me survive here, alone. Don't Remember! Remember!
Put me to sleep, Evil Angel. Open your wings, Evil Angel.
She stopped at the end of the song, and looked around. That’s when she remembered Jay was here. Laughing, she turned to her. ”Sorry. I sorta..zoned off into space.” she laughed a bit more. But even as she finished the song, she could hear the music playing in her ear, and her fingers instinctively began to move, trying to figure out what it would sound like on the piano. Shaking her head, she then stood up and stepped away from the piano and stood in front of Jay. ”So do you play any instruments?”

Jay grinned up at the taller girl. Then again, she had to look up for everyone, but that was besides the point. "That's good!" She replied, smiling. "Really? Dude, that's awesome! I wish I could play violin, I always thought that it was an awesome instrument...and you're welcome." Her words were genuine. Jay really had wanted to learn violin. Heck, she still somewhat had the desire to learn. The instrument had always been appealing in her eyes, but when she had a choice of what instrument to play, guitar had won over violin or piano. At Kjara's statement about her uniform, she looked down at the shorter skirt. A short laugh escaped, unbidden, from her lips. It was amusing, to say the least, and so like Kjara. Well, like pretty much any student from Winterthorne that now attended this shit school. As far as she knew, nobody like the uniform. "That is amazing," she told her friend, grinning. Ah, to have friends such as these. "Frankly, I think it's rather genious. I would love to see the face on those Crestview teachers should they see the length of that skirt!" Jordan watched as Kjay started to play the piano. She closed her eyes, listening to the serene melody that filled the room.
Jay's eyes snapped open as her younger friend addressed her. She stayed silent for a while, mulling over the question Kjay had posed. "Well....yeah, sometimes. Sometimes it just feels like everything is against me. Doesn't want me to find the people that make my life feel just...right." She didn't know if that was exactly what Kjara meant, but that was what Jay had made of it. As for that bit about family? It was several years ago when she had felt the world really hated her, with her parents fighting. Ever since Jay had fallen, she had felt quite distant with her parents, and had never felt close to them again. She hadn't thought about her parents in a while, now. To her, her only family was her brother and sister. And her friends, of course. Many of them were close, and were in a way, her family. Screw her parents.
At the next question Kjara posed, Jordan blinked in surprise, a pink blush rising on her cheeks, warming them. "W-what?" She managed to stutter out in surprise. Gabriel. Gabe. The second guy who at least acted as if they liked her. For all she knew, he might actually like her. She didn't know. She couldn't read minds, now could she? Well, not as far as her knowledge went, anyways. But..she just didn't know. Didn't know what to think about him. I mean, yeah, he was nice enough, but how would she knew that he wasn't fucking with her, like the last guy that acted as if he liked her did. Everything was just so confusing. She jolted as she heard Kjara's fingers hit the piano keys a little harder than Jay was sure the girl intended. She had a feeling as to why that had happened. Gabriel had once tried to kill Kjara. But he was also the one to help save her. So she wouldn't be alive if it weren't for him. But she wouldn't have been in that position either, if it weren't for him. So, she had a right to not like him. Then again, she didn't think she ever mentioned the fact that Gabe had saved Kjay, either. Oh well.
Jay wandered over towards the guitars again, the piano still playing softly as her eyes skimmed over the wooden beauties. She ran her fingers over several different guitars. Yamahas, Washburns, Martins. All good guitars, of course, but one Fender caught her eye. She carefully picked it up. Fender was one of the best brands of guitars. After Gibson, if you asked her. She herself owned a lovely Gibson that she loved with all her heart, but the Fender she held was definitely some competition. Jay put that guitar strap over her head, making the guitar easier to hold. She looked up as Kjay stopped playing the piano. Instead, she began to sing. She was singing a familar song, and, luckily, one she knew the tabs to.
As Kjara sang, she strummed the chords to the song gently, so the guitar wasn't particularly loud, and most definitely not over powering Kjay's singing. She didn't know what posessed her to play along with her friend, but she did. And, as long as Kjay didn't mind, it didn't matter that she was. Jay silenced the guitar as Kjara finished singing, placing one of her small hands on the strings so that they no longer vibrated and caused sound. She shook her head at her friend's next words. "Nah, it's okay. I do that a lot, really. Especially when I'm playing music," she responded, pulling the guitar strap back over her head and placing the guitar back where she found it. She watched Kjara again until the younger girl came back to stand next to her. "Nah, I just picked a guitar up and suddenly knew how to play it," she joked with a grin. "Yeah, I've been playing guitar since I was...uhm....10, I think? Something like that...before I fell, anyways." She shrugged. She didn't care for how long she was playing. She just enjoyed doing so. "Do you play anything besides piano and violin?" She inquired, interested. She liked to know what musical interests her friends might have. It was just a part of her, really. [/blockquote]
